Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey, ca1970

Built in WW2 for defence of the Thames Estuary.
Shivering Sand Fort is on the horizon to the left.

Hello Tim, they are still there.
The walkways have all fallen down, but the main structures are standing.
They are a few miles out to sea from Minster and a bit to the right.

Are these still there now in 2012 or have they been removed. also where about on the island. I use to live in minster before 1983. i check in and see if there is a reply to this message.

I used to live on the Island.I have been on these tower,my brother who was a commecial fisherman out of the creek used to tend these for a pirate radio company that was on there many,many years ago.
