Residential Lineup

This is one of many residential developments on the outskirts of Ankara. I went back here twice, to the extent that a security vehicle came to see what I was doing, and when I got home and looked at my pictures, found this: http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/46642259 LOL.

Thank you, everybody, for your comments. I had in mind photographing something like this, but I first had to find the right group of buildings. We spent an hour driving around the periphery of Ankara, stopping to shoot pics several times, but when I saw this development I knew I had found my shot. In fact, I made my husband drive all the way back there (from way down, on the other side of the freeway) so I could be sure I got what I wanted, which was when the workmen and security guard spied me. I decided I had enough, and we took off :-). Helen

Excellent shot -- they're both stacked and lined up! I like the vivid pattern this creates for the eye.

Nice eye to have seen the possibilities in this scene, Helen. Love the way you composed the image to capture the buildings as a work-in-progress with the exterior and balconies the some of them painted. Bev

Helen, this a very attractive image. The colors, repeating patterns and very crisp focus give this a abstract feel. Wonderfully conceived and executed.

Helen, I really like the beautiful, repeating pattern in this line-up of dwellings...wonderfully bright colors, contrast, and lighting. Effectively cropped and composed, it almost seems like a modernistic graphic/painting. I especially like the chimneys/dormers...and the two-tone color pattern of the roof tiles. Good idea...well seen and taken. That other shot is really funny :) MFC
