Caterpillar

This pretty little caterpillar has made itself at home on my parsley. I love having fresh parsley, but it is also wonderful to have caterpillars move into my garden.

I just love caterpillars! Don't get many in my garden though. Parsley huh? Maybe I should plant some and see if they'll move in. Great find!

Tough choice: today's parsley or tomorrow's butterfly!

He's beautiful, Elaine. I'm not an expert, but I think it is a Black Swallowtail caterpillar. The best reason for planting parsley, dill and fennel.. Bring on the caterpillars!
Guest 12-Jul-2005 21:41
Wonderful!..at least he is leaving the flower heads alone..

Petesie will know best, but I think this is a monarch caterpillar.

He's been having himself quite a party by the look of those stems.
