July 9: Claire Martin: A New Look at Obits

Denver Post Newsroom

Claire is one of a growing group of obituary writers who are writing death notices about interesting and unsung people rather than just the famous few who get all the play.

She was one of the writers featured in **Smithsonian Magazine ** discussing this new trend.

Today she showed me around the newsroom at the Denver Post where she and her husband **Bruce Finley ** both work.

They are the proud parents of my two grand-nieces **Tessa** and **Cordelia** who are quite talented in their own right.

Here Claire is in the Denver Post newsroom getting the story. She is quite a talented feature writer, and has had many articles published in various popular magazines.

Her book, The Nursing Mother's Problem Solver (Paperback) by Claire Martin, Martha Sears, Nancy Funnemark is still available at Amazon.Com.

Excellent. It could stand a bit of red eye removal, but it is an excellent photo of a very good looking woman. Nicely done as usual batman

What a wonderful job she has and I am sure she handles it with great dignity. Her girls are beautiful.

Glad to see this becoming more wide spread. The Martha's Vineyard Gazette has been doing it since they first began publishing way back when, and it's so interesting to read of normal people's lives being celebrated. And anyone who writes a book on nursing mother's problems has got my vote, 3x :)
