Thanks Niek...yes and I do think this is at very close to the limit of softening the DOF here without diopters...I'm sure with an SLR I could have gotten more of a blur to the background. The nice thing though is the extended DOF the smaller sensor gives in landscapes.
well done, the limited DOF creates a very nice effect! proves that you don't need an SLR for this, except that with an SLR it's often easier to see the DOF effect in the viewfinder.

Seems to work fantastic here! It's amazing what can be done if you'll play with the settings, but that's the Best non-DSLR I've ever seen! And I have to ask, how would a DSLR compare in the extra amount of DOF you're 8080 has? It is a fantastic camera! Love this shot.
Thanks Leslie.
When I first saw this on my monitor I thought it looks like the little ones are floating in clear water...this camera amazes me, some say a (D)SLR is needed to blur the background, but I've found using the zoom capable macro mode, as opposed to the fixed, and extending the zoom does OK. The sharpness of lens amazes me too...as well as the great DOF for landscapes. Thanks again.
