This is a young peregrine falcon watching from the edge of his nest box near the top of the state capitol building in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 3, 2005. This photo was taken using a Canon S1 IS digital camera handheld with an Olympus C-180 supplemental lens attached from a distance of almost one city block horizontal and 400 feet vertical. This chick hatched May 19, 2005 and was recently named "Pioneer."
