Dragonfly

I'm so glad to be back home again. I went to visit my gardens and was amazed at how big my tomato, bell pepper and eggplants plants were. The tomato plant in my pot was huge and I had to stake it because it was bent over to the ground. This dragonfly landed on the stake right after I put it into the pot.

Holy mackerel! Gayle has been shooting some incredible dragon flies. Now this. What is it down there? Are they slower or what? I can't get one to sit still long enough to shoot an image!
This is awsome! GMV!

An amazingly good portrait of this colorful creature. I can't imagine how you could get so close.

Great catch and quick reflexes for such a sharp detailed capture of an elusive, in my experience, bug.

Great close up of this fellow.. I used to wonder how people got these GREAT shots of dragon flies.. as the California fellows zip around SO fast.. Went I went to New Orleans a year ago.. I swear they posed! Nice one! Looks like a face on this guy. ;)

Ok., this is fabulous. I am way too slow to capture a dragonfly and to do it with such great composition, WOW. I especially like the lighting and how it brings out the definition in the wings.

Beautiful detail, Elaine. I used to think they were all alike but they vary in wing markings as well as color.

Prime real estate if you're a dragonfly, I guess. Excellent macro!

Beautiful detail!! I haven't had luck with dragonflys landing anywhere here. I was also surprised at how big my garden plants were when I got back... though also shocked at how many weeds have sprouted up :( Will have to remember to take the camera out with me when I garden and hope for a good shot os something :)

The poor thing was tired of flying and waiting for you to get home to put the stake up : ) Nice close up from the underside!
