Turkey, Abana view map

Along the Abana-Bozkurt road is a monument to 700 years of heroïsm by the locals. I partly took this picture to show the note to the left, where the firm that made it gives its address and mobile phone number. "Where I come from" such advertising on a monument would be unthinkable, but I have seen it on several monuments.

In November 2005 I was notified that due to the action of the viewer below the notice was taken off. I thought of photoshopping it out, but that would be falsifying history, so ...

Yetkililere sesleniyorum!
Insan utanir...

Yes, the advertisement do not pass to that holy place,to the monument for martyries of the National War of Turkey. I have informed local governor about this and hope it will be corrected soon.
And a correction for a misunderstanding: Heroes are not from 700 years ago. The dates are their birthdays according to the Arabic calender, which starts with the Hegira of Prophet Mohammed from Mekka to Medina at 622 D.C. The moon turns 12 times around the earth and this is one Arabic year, which is approx. 355 days. (Note: This is the reason why the Ramadan period comes each year 10 days earlier.)
To convert an Arabic year to the Gregorien calender you must do the following
( Arabic year 1298 is our example):
1298 / 33 = 39
1298 - 39 = 1259
1259 + 622 = 1881 D.C.
