It looked as if this huge piece of driftwood had sprouted live growth. Actually, upon further investigation, we noticed the winter water had deposited it on top of a live bush, which continued growing seemingly undeterred by the obtrusive weight of this driftwood.

Great way to frame that lighthouse. Good composition!

I like the composition, but especially the natural framing. Whether or not those "specks" are birds, I, too, find them a bit... umm... speckled. ;-) But then again, when I look at the picture long enough they kind of blend in as a natural part of the composition.

Beautiful, warm, late afternoon light. Or maybe early morning light. But very soothing.

This is really a wonderful photo of one of my favorite subjects. The lighthouse is framed beautifully by the greenery. I like your mat and framing treatment, too.

Gotta love this lighthouse. I know exactly where this driftwood is, I noticed it last summer. I do have to say, the birds do look like spots, LOL. Nice capture.

nice capture, makes me want to be there

Gee wiz, Dan, I thought they were birds and left the spots in on purpose. Actually there was a large flock of birds way behind the lighthouse and I left them in selectively. Maybe they detract. Thanks for the comment.

Wonderful capture, Don! I feel as though I'm actually standing on the shore viewing the lighthouse. The bush and driftwood in the foreground adds a lot of depth to this image. Great work.

There seems to be some 'spotting' above the lighthouse.
A little cloning could be used Don.
A very serene shot.
