On Blue (flower) hill

Wednesday 29th June - Day 193

With apologies to Fats Domino....

Thanks for all the kind comments about the last two days, you may find me photographing people more often!

However, I'd noticed these fields near to work, and thought they needed a closer inspection. I didn't actually realise they rolled away for so far though, all covered in Blue floweres. The crop? Its Linseed.

I've been to visit this image so many times, I can't believe I haven't left a comment! This is simply magnificent - the dreamy house beyond the beautiful blue carpet - love it!

You know Lee, I had to come back to this. I'ts really, really good. Reminds me of Monet, my all-time favorite artist.

Absolutely beautiful, Lee. Gets my vote. If these were my hills, I would roll in the flowers.

Stunning shot,Lee!
The white house in the background really compliments the carpet of blue flowers.

That's so gorgeous - straight out of a fairytale! I love the wavy lines of the blue hills - it's like a watercolor abstract.

Oh this is stunning! I love the DOF and the house in the background seems like a dream home, perfect white to go with the blue. Beautiful, beautiful shot.

We don't seem to have much linseed here but I noticed some fields of it in Devon last week - it's an interesting crop, more beautiful than the rapeseed, for sur.
Linda Alstead29-Jun-2005 19:20
yeah - linseed is so much prettier than rape seed isn't it?
Johnny JAG29-Jun-2005 19:16
What a great shot, almost dreamlike. A perfect summer picture.
Donna Lear29-Jun-2005 19:12
Lee, this is beautiful, truly and seriously beautiful. The DOF is perfect .. the wash of color as the focus blurs; the sharpness of the linseed in the front makes it look like a very plush carpet. I like everything about this shot.
