G'day Chris. Nice work. I prefer it much better this way. I suspect that if you hadn't actually been there at the time then you might have a different view from what you started with, but you'll never know. YOur image does a job and does it well.

G'day John ! and all.

Well 'ere you go, some perspective adjustments and cropping, as the majority of comments seemed to request... I think I still prefer my 'other' version.

G'day Chris. The open windows are great. I can live with the perspective and the vents at the left if I have to. How about at least aligning the bottom row of windows with the bottom edge by rotating your image anti-clockwise? That would still leave you with some obvious height perspective from teh rest of the image, especially the more inclined right hand edge, although you would lose some sky in the process, which isn't ideal. Is there more sky in the original? If so, I'd suggest you include a bit more. See my comments below on balancing the image.

The reflections of the stuff sticking up in the 2nd and 3rd panels in at the lower left really detract a lot from your image as they're too distracting. They don't add anything and they are distracting. I am certain I'm not alone with this opinion as it's teh kind of thing that comes up time and time again in comments. You'd be doing yourself a big favour if you cloned them out or cropped the bottom of the image off to remove them. Looking at your image again, I would also crop the left at least to place the open windows closer to the left rule of thirds line, ie a third of the way in from the left edge (perhaps half way between those windows at the ROT line). Although that would also achieve the aim of removing the vents from the left, the main reason to do it is to balance your image better. Such a crop would put your open windows at the left ROT line and the right edge of the building not too far from the right ROT line, dividing your image into three balanced sections. In fact, some more sky would also help there. Even if you did nothing else at all, some more sky at the right would get the balance moving in the right direction.

Good subject choice. I like it, but would like it a lot more with a few simple changes. It doesn't have to become too abstract to become even more pleasing.

I have moved this to the Exhibition Gallery, because of the time frame and added the camer info.

On the issue of perspective and geometery correction I beg to differ.

I wanted to convey some indication of hieght, within it's context. Indeed, the detail on the LHS and bottom also helps with this as do the open windows. I felt correction to a 'perfect geometery' just wasn't right for this, I didn't want to abstract it too much.
I should mention that this image has been rescaled, from a portrait to landscape (i.e. height has been squeezed down) to enhance the affect of the clouds + some spectral equalisation.

Thanks for your comments.

Good subject Chris. I think this one would benefit from some perspective correction to straighten everything out. Also, I would crop or clone away the things sticking up at the lower left and also crop the partial left panel that isn't adding anything to the image.

One final thing is that you haven't included the date of this shot or the camera make/model, so could you please help Ser out by doing that. As a minimum, you need to have taken the shot with a Minolta/KM camera during the Challenge entry period to be eligible to enter the image in this Competition Gallery. John

I really like the diferent kinds of blues and the whole thing of the cloud reflection. I'd say that the pic would be better off without the left column of windows (the one with the air conditioning exits). I'm not sure if it's possible but probably the best would have been to have the left corner completely vertical and the left as tilted or more, just a guess. BTW either the pic of the building looks very familiar to me.igb.
