Had you photographed this with say a Canon 20D, every head in the subway car would have turned to look at you, the F17 is MUCH more quiet when it captures images :-) I like the harsh sunlight but I wish the FBI agent in the back were not facing us lol. Nicely seen.

Thanks for your kind words, guys. As usual for me, the title is a double entendre. In addition to being surrounded by "angels," the lighting also looks like what you might see during an ascent to heaven. It reminds me of being on an airplane, actually. What makes it incongruous and dreamlike is the fact that subways are normally underground, where sunlight never strikes. This particular scene unfolded while we were on a bridge crossing the Dnipro river. A minute later, we were underground again. Somehow I think that if I had taken a flash photo while we were underground, it would have been pretty ho-hum. The sunlight really made the picture. This is one of the few examples where I actually LIKE the blown highlights-it makes it that much more dreamlike and heavenly. Thanks again, guys. -Colin

A typical sexist remark: "Who needs heaven with such a bevy of beautiful blondes?" This is heaven already! Nicely seen and taken. Oh that all my dreams were as pleasant as this one!

Very nice capture, with the beautiful light and the assemblage of blondes :). --Melanie

Colin: Wonderful! The gold of the hair accentuated by the sun..... plus the fact that you had so many blondes at one time is a tribute to your eye and presence of mind. I might have found myself simply looking slackjawed at the combination and pulled out my camers two seconds too lote. Awesome!! Fremiet
