Winter iris

Iris unguicularis
the snails love them
and we don't use snail-bait
because of visiting dogs.

We just had a cute little
visitor, a corgi cross
called "Sandy" which
belongs to the little
girl who owns the pony
in the previous day's pad.

Here's the pathway to the horse stables,
well trodden by man, woman, grandchild and horse

and an Australian wildflower
common name, "native fuchsia"

Lovely iris, and you are lucky to have visiting corgis. My two love to visit all the neighbours...

that iris is lovely - but then you already know I like stripey flowers. ;)
Good DOF too, to make the flower in focus and the vase not.
I have always thought of irises as water loving species so very interesting to
see this growing in Australia.

What a gorgeous blend of colour in that one Von. The fuchsia has had a fair few drinks by the look of it. At least you can go on a holiday & not worry about the garden needing a watering.
