I'm happy because I'm a Spurs fan, but it is a bit bittersweet
because John was such a faithful fan.....win or lose,
he never missed a game. Even when he was at Deer Creek
for a while I posted game times so that the aides could
find the game for him. He would have loved this series
and I miss sharing the joy with him.
Detroit was a worthy opponent and a great defending champion, that is for sure.

My son and grandson were there.....check this out: http://www.pbase.com/vernix/image/45229990

You'll get on well with Linda Alstead - she's a Spurs fan too - although a different Spurs and a different sport (football - or what you Americans call soccer). The pain never really goes away. I still think of my Dad, who died 12 years ago

This is a great picture. I can almost feel that joyous sweaty hug!
I know Dad would be so tickled about the Spurs winning, but I bet he's got a front row seat to an even better show now.

I thought about you in front of your tv with your pom poms and cheerleader voice. Glad they won.
