Footprints.
When footprints are left, it is usually a bad thing (or neutral at best). Parents scold, "Why didn't you wipe your feet or take off your shoes before coming into the house. You tracked footprints everywhere!"
But, taking a closer look, footprints remind us of some important things...
We can trace back where we came from,
and,
We can see where we are going.
