Fawn on the Old Wilderness Road by the S. Fork of the Eel River

I was trudging down the Old Wilderness Road by the
S. Fork of the Eel River. I was tired after a long
hard hike and was staring at my feet. I looked up
and saw 2 fawns in the middle of the road staring
back at me from about 70 yds away. I froze. After
staring at me for about 5 min. they started foraging
again.
But I still wasn't close enough. I found that if
I stopped advancing when they looked up they let
me get within 10 yards.

As you can see the lighting was tough.

of course you know I will love this one...just the fact that you caught this youngster still with spots...it is in a natural scene with excellent framing by the trees...a delight...
