This guy seemed more curious than fearful. While he was still his height away from the car, I put my hand out the window, and he opened his beak, slightly. I wasn't sure if that meant he wanted food, or to peck me, so I withdrew it, quickly. Feeding the animals is not allowed, otherwise, I'm sure they'd be in the car, fighting over your lunch. Cranes are one thing, but bison and elk are another, entirely. Eventually he went around behind the car. There are trees on one side of the road and a pond on the other, so they are continually going from one to the other. |
