It was Mom's birthday today.
We had plans to go out to celebrate. My sister, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins came by to help in the celebrations.
Somehow Mom ended up doing what Mom does. She ended up cooking a phenomenal meal for her own birthday meal. She bought her own cake as well. I tell you, I feel like a horrible son.
It has been a tough few months with times of unfortunate tension between my parents and me. But that will never change the fact that I love them dearly.
I hope that soon life circumstances will allow my parents and me to return to the days where conversation was centered around warm, happy themes.
