Powder Mill, Dartmoor

Saturday 11th June - Day 175

Right in the middle of Dartmoor, there are the ruins of a Gunpowder mill, dating from the napoleonic wars in the early 19th Century. Why here? Well, where else would you build something that could go bang?

There really was an intense sky, I've just livened it up a bit more... exaggerated I think!

I love the drama of this photo. The clouds really accentuate the mill remnants.

This is great; so much to see. The chimney is wonderful against the clouds and the rocks and the rolls (rocking and rolling, I see) of the hills are wonderful.
