Today I drove a couple of hundred miles roundtrip to El Centro in the Imperial Valley. That is correct; the Imperial Valley is one of the most productive agricultural areas of the world and the largest year-round irrigated agricultural area in North America.
No, I wasn’t planting alfalfa. I was doing a bit of consulting over there with the Imperial County Social Welfare Agency.
I know this shot won’t win an award for great photography, however I did take it at 75 mph, and it does show these HUGE rocks which line Interstate 8 as you climb west from Sea Level to Four Thousand Feet over the Laguna Mountains.
