Exploring the "Richard Montgomery"

Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey.

There are about 4,000 tons of live bombs on this wartime shipwreck.
We went to close and were asked to leave by the harbour police.

I knew enough about the ship as to not anchoring to close Dave.
Wish I had taken some close up photos of it.

Did you drop anchor when directly above the ship?

Jason, very difficult to determine a level of stupidity in going close to the Montgomery.
It had been there for about 35 years before we visited (on lots of occasions). It has been there for about 35 years since this photo. I would rate this quite low on the level of stupid things I have done.
If it ever blows, I will hear it in Putney.

Since you assured me you 'never did anything as stupid in a small boat' after your race against QE2, I can safely assume this merry little outing was before that.
