We had spent another night with friends, as I was due to be in Edinburgh today, before beginning
the next bout of travelling with a snatched visit to the Edinburgh office, before heading back down
south to finish the week in London. This time though it was all work and no play, mainly due to
the travel arrangements surrounding the trip.
Before arriving at my hotel though, I was able to spend a couple of hours relaxing in amongst the
dunes with Catherine. It was really nice day, when the wind wasn’t howling around us that is.
After a couple of hours it was late enough to shoot on through to Edinburgh and get checked in.
At this point I discovered 2 things, which would impact on my time in the short and long term. The
first, my travel booking had been cocked up, and instead of two nights I was only booked in for one
of them. The second, was Bob Geldof deciding to summon 1 million people to Edinburgh. Instead of
the nice quiet month I was hoping for in the office, after all the travel I’ve been doing lately,
I’m now going to be flat out planning for this. It’s a worthy cause, an incredibly worthy cause,
but I just wish he had chosen another venue for it! I’ll just have to put this down to a sacrifice
for the greater good!
