I've been here trying to figure out what this could be and I gave up :-) But that won't stop me from leaving you my comment on your photo.
It's a great macro, where detail has completely abstracted the form and that by itself is enough to capture the attention, but I believe that the strong sense of texture we get from the photo are also fantastic.
