Slipping

It is as though he is trying to hold on to existence with his left arm as he disappears by sliding out of the frame to the right. He is passing in to non-existence, not wanted, and desperately trying to hold on for one last chance.

Thanks Jen. Background merger is, I am finding, one of the ost difficult things to overcome for me. I am getting better at the edges, but often, because the background is out of focus I am not concentrating on it as much. I will keep working on it. I agree that the slipping feels right for the pose of this unfortunate man. It is as though he is trying to hold on to existence with his left arm as he disappears by sliding out of the frame to the right. That was the idea anyway...Thanks for visiting and commenting Jen.

Kal, I like this picture the most because how you tilt your camera to make him as if slipping away. It a bit bothers me that the crowd is mergering with the man's head. It would be nice if you isolate him more. Next time you may work with this idea a bit, I think with better execution, this could be excellent expressive photo.

Same guy, but this time you speak of a man slowly slipping away It's the tilted horizon that makes the point. It is an expressive image, but does not carry the emotional punch of the first shot, which told a stronger story in a more effective way.
