20050602 Border Crossing

North Staffordshire, England

This is 'Three Shires Head' where the mighty River Dane is spanned by the enormous structure of Three Shires Bridge. The waterway then flows south from the Mountains of Staffordshire to join the Northern Ocean at Hull.

And the warring Kingdoms of Cheshire (left bank), Staffordshire (Right Bank) and Derbyshire (Top) are joined in uneasy union in this remote spot.

(Er, I think I've been reading too many impressive PAD comments from North America. This is just a little English babbling brook really - but we love it!)

I like your stream of thought, so to speak, and always enjoy learning a bit about English history. Nicely executed image.
