Cellinii made this bronze Perseus with the head of Medusa in 1545 for Duke Cosimo I di' Medici.
It stands in the Loggia dei Lanzi adjacent to the Uffizi Gallery, which was originally the offices of the Duke.
Restoration scaffolding used in work on the Logia dei Lanzi can be seen in the background.
