Sailing is a sport of honor, not unlike that of the game of golf.
Rules are established to govern the conduct of a racing event.
All competitors are bound by these rules and races are managed
within the boundaries of these rules of racing.
For this regatta, “The DR. Lory Schults Memorial Lady Skipper Regatta”,
the procedure for protests will be as follows:
The protesting boat shall inform the boat it is protesting what
rule they have broken.
If the protested boat agrees that a rule was broken and they are guilty,
they will take the appropriate penalty.
If the protested boat does not believe they have broken a rule,
or they believe another rule supersedes the rule they were protested on,
they may choose to continue racing by declining the Protest.
This puts the burden on the Protested boat.
We treat this as a sport of gentlemen and ladies, removing the need for a
Protest Committee and greatly simplifying the administration of the event.

We have five main goals today.

1) Raise money for Lory’s Place
2) Have fun
3) Raise money for Lory’s Place
4) Have a competitive sail racing event
5) Raise money for Lory’s Place

Now… lets go racing!!!!!!!
