5/25: Cellf Portrait

The Motorola V220 cell phone camera is not a great one. The highest resolution is 640 x 480 (0.3 megapixels). It has five exposure settings (-2 to +2), and three zoom factors (although the closer you zoom, the smaller the picture). There are also options for taking pictures in black and white, sepia, bluish or greenish. And, apparently there is a rudimentary white balance setting for different lighting conditions.

Not bad for a phone camera. Nice shot.

Nice composition. You placed yourself quite well in the frame. Quite good for 0.3 megapixels.

I sympathize with you, but this borders on pathetic, Jeremy Moto. You are really desperate! I do hope they fix your Rebel quickly.

Judging by the comments below and yesterday, we all love your cell phone pics. Maybe you started something Jeremy. Maybe we'll all be throwing over our expensive high-falutin' SLRs etc for one of these! :o)

I'm so sorry your Rebel is broken...it looks like you are keeping yourself entertained, though.
Pepe Zyman26-May-2005 04:21
As good as a Canon :^)
Chris26-May-2005 03:29
Cellf portrait. LOL. Seriously, though. Pretty decent camera if you ask me. You're getting good shots with it, bro.
Guest 26-May-2005 03:28

Nokia has the best camera phones on the market from what I've tested. Some others I recent got to play around with were the Sony S700i and Moto V635. Not bad. The Sony's got a 1.3mp camera. It takes some pretty sweet pictures. I'll post a PaD photo one day taken by that phone.

Guest 26-May-2005 00:54

I wonder what those on the otherside are thinking of a guy taking his own shot in the window, hehehe !!
Robin Reid25-May-2005 23:00
But ... all that and a phone amazing.
Now where did I put my ear trumpet ;-)
Vinh Luu25-May-2005 22:41
ah... so the zoom is digital zoom, i.e. cropping. i'm surprised they even offer exposure compensation! i'm not a fan of cell phones with built-in cameras. i think they create more problems than they're worth. it won't be long cell phones have integrated garage door openers, and universal remotes... i would've added mp3 players and video streaming, but that's already here.

Too funny. Cell phone cameras intrigue me. Can't get away from them these days. I love going to a concert and watching people shoot with a cell phone. I think they spend more time talking, texting and sending pics than enjoying the concert :(
Si Kirk25-May-2005 22:27
cool beans, it is unusual to see some much adjustment i will have to see what mine can do
Guest 25-May-2005 21:59
