The insignia, originally approved for the Ryukyus Command in 1950,
was re-designated in 1965 for the United States Army, Ryukyu Islands.
The torii, sacred entranceway to a Shinto Temple, alludes to Ryukyus as
"the gateway to Japan."

My father served in the Army and was a part of the Ryukus Command I am making a collage of memorbilla he collected and would like to know how to order the Ryukus Command patch and other related items
