12th Century Barn

Normandy, France

While driving on a tiny country road trying to find the way to our B&B, we spotted a small sign describing this very old property, so we went to check it out. It was one of the coolest things we saw on our trip. There was an old manor house, a barn, the pond and the remains of a church. Even better -- the place was deserted -- not another tourist in sight (to get in the way of my photos -- lol!). Visiting a place like this, you can't help but stop and imagine what life must have been like when these places were occupied (no doubt by a wealthy landowner). Finding this place proved true those old sayings about "it's the journey, not the destination," and "pay attention to the little things."
