you can be sure many battles were waged on these very fields,
and the people who built what is now just ruins, fought long and
hard to keep their land.
ireland has a rich and inspiring history.
time for me to go back again for another visit.

This is a zoom panorama from Dolphin Beach House in Clifden Ireland. The property is settled on ruins (from who knows?) and the remains of the vast homestead are quite evident (as you can see the ancient walls). I wonder who lived there before? Were battles waged? Ireland is great for the imagination.
