WWII Italy Screen Printed on satin

3rd Infantry Division:
The Marne Division.
When the U.S. entered WW II, the 3rd Division was on active
duty assigned to the Regular Army with Headquarters at Fort
Lewis, Washington. After receiving training in amphibious
operations at Fort Ord, California, the Division changed
stations three times before embarking for overseas
in October of 1942

The shoulder patch worn by the 3rd Division is based on a
WW I design approved by the AEF on October 24th, 1918. The
three white stripes suggest the three major WW I operations
in which the Division participated, and they also suggest the
unit's number. The blue field is for Infantry and also
symbolize the loyalty of Division members who placed their
lives in danger to defend American ideals of Liberty and Democracy.
