Nice day to glide around - Torrey Pines South course is visible just to the left for you golfers. I was doing some scouting for an independent science field trip idea I'm working on. I'll have GPS coordinates to certain locations around San Diego, where a corresponding sheet will explain the geology, oceanography or ecological feature at that location. For instance - as you look into the distance, you are looking back in geologic time - where I'm standing is 33 million year old Eocene deep water mud deposits, Torrey Pines to the north is 55 million year old shallow water sedimentary rock formations.
