May 2: What A Difference A Day Makes

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Much earlier in the day I posted a ***Magnolia*** blossom from the evening before.

Autumn Sky (a.k.a. LC) pointed out in his comment that the flower was over-exposed. Ironically, last night was one of the very few times I had not used my RAW setting, so I couldn’t fix it very easily. Instead I went out today at noon and caught the same blossom. It is much better exposed this time, but note it has opened up more.

Beautiful. It pops off the screen.

I started to say this flower is my favorite scent on the planet...then I thought about it. It's my second favorite. Nicely done, Robin. :-)

What a beauty Robin!

I like this one too; the exposure bothered me a little on the other, but this is much more unusal, and the framing really is a knockout. Good one, Robin. Where's your gull friend?

Perfect exposure... you can make out every white tone. Very nice.

Very cool perspective!

I prefer this shot but not because of exposure. The framing is way cool...will you show me how to do that? Beautiful Magnolia tree...we don't have those 'round here. Do the blossoms smell?

Nice southern magnolia, but what is that blob in it that looks like a scoop of coffee ice cream. And, I prefer this shot.

Let's hope you have understanding neighbors, what with you traipsing all over their yards! I think this is a much stronger image. Kinda like that framing, too! :-)

Hmmm, seems a bit underexposed in the upper left.
Just kidding.
Personally, I prefer the other one, the colors and DOF are much more dynamic and only someone looking for overexposure would notice it, I sure didn't.
