Oarboat hitting Clavey Hole in the Class V Clavey Falls rapid on the Tuolumne River. The bow paddlers are adding their efforts to break through the hole and avoid a flip. Rafts and kayaks really try to avoid this boat-eater, but the hole was forgiving that day and allowed most boats through. The white waterproof ammo box for my E-1 and lenses can be seen strapped between the spare oar and the green bag. After taking photos I ran the rapid in a paddle boat-we were able to miss the hole.
