Note rusty old railroad block signal about a quarter of the
way in on the left. That vegetation covered ledge-like area on
the left side of the canal was a two-track line for the Central
Railroad of New Jersey. When Ye Olde Photographer was a
student at Lehigh, circa 1960, there were still several round
trip passenger trains to New York City through here every day.
