April 24: SP Sunday

Rancho Bernardo, CA

One of the joys of now having three cameras in operation (Canon 20D, Canon EOS Elan, and Pentax 550 Optio) is the opportunity to do more portraiture work. But, as I soon learned, one has to hustle to get out of the way!

Pentax Optio 550
1/94s f/2.8 at 7.8mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Interesting picture, I like the idea. It seems though the copy of you that is walking would need a small step ladder to use the cameras that are in the picture. You might try the same shot with the camera in manual mode to ensure there is no difference in exposure and just stand in several different places and then create one image out of the photos of you. That way your size would be right in relation to all the objects in the picture. I like the bird, almost did not see it at first.

Excellent. I've wanted to do a shot like this, me talking to myself in my case. But just couldn't pull it off in one frame and don't have the PS skills. This looks very real. Too funny, too!

LOL @Snoootydog. Gullp... I guess gulls come and go and return ;-)
snootydog25-Apr-2005 12:52
look at that, I believe you have as well. But where did the gull go? I am endlessly amused by the humor you show in these projects.

Should have kept that 10D, then you would have 4!

Back inthe film days I used several cameras, then one for b&W, one for color, and different formats for different types of work (2-1/4 sq, 2-1/14 x 2-3/4[my RB-67], a Speed Graphic, and a Calumet 4x5. My wife always said, "Why do you have to have sooooo many cameras.....

Too much fun Robin! Bugs climbing the wall (seagulls, who seem to have flown off shore looking for some grub) an evil twin ready to bump into you...Watch out for the tripods!!!
A very very busy day :)

Thanks for the heads up Liza... I believe I've fixed it.

I see your pet gull kept you company once again. There is but one thing I don't understand about this photo... when you were hustling to get away did your right hand slip into a bowl of green paint?

Nice work as usual Batman.

Looks like both of you had a lot of fun. Which one is the evil twin?

There's your signature seagull. Very nice work, Robin.

Excellent SP. Voted!
Guest 24-Apr-2005 18:28
Robin, I'm so far inland that your bird looks like a roadrunner to me! Yum, with green chili and a fresh tortilla. (What does seagull taste like? chicken?)
Coleen Perilloux Landry24-Apr-2005 18:27
This is wonderful, Robin, and it is like a "Where's Waldo" to find all the little tricks you have done.
Robin Reid24-Apr-2005 17:46
Fran... gosh, how can you think that I would resort to more trickery? ;-)
LOL... nailed to the wall. We don't see 'real' seaguls this far inland. So I use this guy as need to spice up my images!
Guest 24-Apr-2005 17:43
I really like the bird behind the blinds...and its reflection in the painting on the wall! Is this more trickery or just a happy accident?
