I cut my teeth on the D70 -- my first dSLR -- and then took the plunge and splurged on this top-of-the-line instrument. Despite the cost, I've never regretted it. The controls, the image quality, the incredible almost bottomless level of detail within each image, are all fantastic.

Small things are a plus, too; mirror lock-up, large bright LCD, large viewfinder. I just love this camera.
