This is the gown image done using a process called mordancage. Sometimes it is referred to as bleach-etch. Uses nasty chemicals and is not supposed to be very good for your health.

I agree with marinus... anyway the image tempts me to reach the screen and touch that fine piece of art. Beautiful!

Marinus, you are so right. This is one of the problems with the process and the resultant images that are 3-dimensional. There is no way to convey the texture fully on the web or even on slides when submitted for juried shows. Polaroid lifts suffer some from this same limitation. perhaps computer screens are not the best mediums for this kind of Art. The texture is not easy to appreciate in the small format. It frustrates me, cuz i am sure this picture would be great if it were possible to view this piece closeup with real texture
