Saturday night it dumped a lot of wet, sticky snow in large flakes as if it were January and not early Spring. I cannot say I was surprised though, it happens every year though this covering was a bit thick.

As I drove the “back way” to Pittsburgh from the north, I couldn’t help but find the scenery beautiful and relaxing in a way. I am so glad I plotted this road course out using topomaps last year. I avoid the rush hour traffic on weekdays and it’s always quite and interesting to look at. I can make it almost the entire way into the city before a car gets in front of me.

The real kicker is that it takes me about 5 to 10 minutes less than if I would have gone the main route on the highways. LOL

Ah, the road less travelled.
This is a well composed and beautiful shot.
Me, I'd take this route even if it took half an hour longer.

Magnificent shot. The road bank on the right balances the far away trees on the left--very pleasing to look at.
