To answer the questions, it really was that color; I almost noted it when I posted the photo as I know it looks almost surreal, but is real. The foreground was pretty dark, but the evening sun hits Half Dome like that during certain parts of the year, near sunset.

As for the foreground being a bit dark, it is, but if I'd exposed for it, I'd have lost the color of the brighter Half Dome. I did brighten the foreground some, leaving the brighter parts alone. I also took some bracketed shots which I could possibly combine, but haven't done it. Thanks for the comments and questions.

Good title Gary and bet the bottom would be even nicer with more light.
