Being more of a photojournalist than a fine-art photographer,
I find that the most significant image to share this day
is to show that mosquitoes are here now and about to take wing
on this year that the West Nile Virus is expected to arrive,
possibly as an epidemic.

All other standing water at this site is from rainwater
and is free from these wigglies.
I wonder whether they arrived with the container
that had held standing water elsewhere
or whether from the stream that provided this water.

I was planning to store the water for dryer times,
but hadn't located a cover for it.

The symptoms will send the people to the doctors
but not the animals in the hills.

Not getting any images of my own of the Passing of the Pope,
this is the most important image of the day that I have to provide.
