Tonight, April 1, 2005, was the night that saw the opening of the Jensen Grand Concert Hall in Pocatello, Idaho. This 1,200-seat hall has great acoustics because it incorporates state-of-the-art design and technology that really seem to work! In fact some of the technology used in this hall had never been used before in the U.S.! The Trio and other musicians that I saw and heard performed beautifully. I left after the intermission because I had (and still have, now that it's past midnight) chores to finish at home.
I only had a slow camera with me (a Nikon Coolpix 8700) because it is silent and I didn't want to make mirror noise. However, this event was actually expertly photographed by the university's official photographers (Susan Duncan and her crew), mirror noise and all! So they probably have sharper photos available.
The artists shown are: Soprano - Dr. Diana Livingston-Friedley; Clarinet - Dr. John Masserini; Piano - Dr. Kori Bond, all ISU Music Department Faculty.
Song: Der Hirt auf dem Felsen. Schubert/Mueller (eigentlich -- Wilhelm Müller, 1794-1824, Strophe 1-4 Wilhelmina von Chézy, 1783-1856, Strophe 5-6) -- siehe
