It was a fairly quiet day for us, for the first time in ages we had a free weekend. The plan at
the beginning was (with the exception of Saturday), to relax and take it easy. Although this was
great for myself, I suppose it doesn't make for the best viewing for you! But given all the upset
of leaving the flat, and last week's visit to Glasgow, we were both so tired that a quiet time was
about all we could manage.
So we spent some of the morning looking round more house-type-shops, and then relaxed in the
afternoon with a couple of films. Idyllic!
This was a shot taken in the late afternoon of flowers sitting in the hallway - I bracketed up a
stop to retain the detail in the shadows. I added a bit more contrast in PS, and a spot of sharpening.
There was a competition at work called "The Catwalk Project". Similar to the cow parade, you're
given a concrete cat to decorate (the cat is a moulding of lions which sit on the side of the Union
Street Bridge). I had thought of entering, as it's been a while since I've painted, but the minute
of course my mind was made up I realised that all my paints were in a box, somewhere in the store.
Next year maybe. This was similar to the design I had in mind, a sort of modern day chintz. Annoying,
but then given how busy we are just now, I don't know if I'd really have had the time to do it!
And once again I'm back up to date with the last few days.
