Well, I’m sitting on the plane right now heading back home.
I would be lying if I said that a big part of me wouldn't want to stay out West for a little while longer. Why not? The trip has been fantastic. It warmed my heart to see old friends as well as make a few new ones. I experienced such kindness and hospitality. The climbing was challenging when it wasn’t too scary. Then again, a bit of healthy fear once in a while doesn’t hurt either. I enjoyed having friends from my current home meet friends from a home from my past. But, in a way, a part of me still finds home in each of these places.
This is a photo of Edison. I have to give him credit. He has trained hard and has stepped up his game, pulling off some very difficult climbs. I thank him for being the subject of so many of my photos.
But hard climbing is not all that the trip was about. I’ll have a gallery up soon from this trip. This gallery may trickle onto this site little by little since editing is a bit crude on a mini-laptop and a touchpad (instead of my workstation and tablet). Anyway, hopefully the complete gallery will communicate a bit of what I love so much about climbing. It is such a conglomerate of a physical endeavor mixed with the support of wonderful friends in beautiful settings.
Thank you everyone for enriching my life.
