The Job Interview
(03.24.05)

Be careful, your job could depend on your PAD comments!!!

I came upon an interesting scene as I passed through the Art Department at William & Mary—a group of students, their professor and a smartly dressed woman, all gathered in front of a wall of art. What makes the scene interesting is that smartly dressed and art department is an oxymoron; the woman stood out. I listened as I passed and realized the woman was critiquing the work of each student with the professor listening. The woman was there for a job interview; this was part of her interview, yikes.

Not wanting to add a camera into the mix, I returned later and took this panorama of the wall. I rather liked the wall of colors and it’s interesting to see the different renderings of the same subject. Best viewed in Original format (230K). It was a busy day today… this was my only shot. :o(

Image Notes: A seven image panorama stitched using Photoshop.

Nice pano! We get lots of practice critiquing photos on Pad. Maybe you should have jumped in. :)

Nicely done - not the sort of job interview I've done much prep for!

I think she must have automatically failed for being so smartly dressed! Then again, if words like "Primitive" were being uttered, she got it! :)

I love your commentary and I love how you stitched those pieces together. THey are quite nice and I hope that the lady did well to get the job. Great lighting of course on that display.

Great photo and commentary.
I would have just said, "It's all crap". Would I get the job?

First, very interesting photo. Second, I wonder if the students had input into the hiring. That seems to have become a trend.

Interesting photo. I would have loved to have seen the professor, the interviewee/cirtiquer and the students.

Interesting story.
BTW, your creative style sheet is wonderful. I need some help on how to do things like that!
