#082 Magpie

Thought I should try and get at least a passable shot "in the bag" before leaving for work. When this Magpie popped up on the garden fence I thought it might do. I find they are tricky subjects, so active and high contrast. This was shot through the dining room window.

PS. As Lee noticed the recent shots are with Michelle's 300D, my 20D has had to go for a repair after the shutter button has become a bit sticky causing me to miss some shots !

Great shot - they've been collecting twigs in our garden, but I've not caught one yet!

A very nice close up on this bird. I like the darkness in this image. A very nice mood in this picture.

I often think about getting a shot of the many Jay's I see around... But always decide against it - buggers always look too fast:)

Nice shot.

Great focussing on him (her?) Like how you've got the blue on the wings as well.

We get a lot of these in the garden, well captured.

We seem to see a lot more magpies than we used to and they seem so big too. Nice capture.

Great shot, very sharp again.
Superb exposure on him.

Great shot of this bird. Now I know what I look like when someone calls me a magpie.

I've got hundreds of these plus even more crows nearby. Over the winter their combined cackles have been pretty much the only bird sound. Walking round this evening finally the other birds were catching up. It sounded like spring!!

Nevertheless, despite my distaste for these bullies, you've done a good job of taking its picture!!
