This photo shows a bit more of the massive body on this large female. Pine Snake females lay huge eggs, from which emerge relatively huge hatchlings, 17 to 19 inches long. By contrast, Black Rat Snakes, which can grow up to 100 inches long, are only 12 to 14 inches at hatching. A big female with 13 or 14 of those huge eggs inside her would be truly massive.
