Grand Slam

Saturday 19th March 2005 - Day 91

Spring is lovely. Flowers blooming. Birds singing. Lawn movers creaking. Weeds growing.... hang on the last two are not so good....

The daffs have featured before. I chose them as my PaD today in honour of Wales winning the Grand Slam. This seemed to happen every year when I was growing up, but this is the first since 1978. I'm not Welsh, but it does make a change from England or France doing it! So the secret is out - I was watching the Rugby instead of lounging in the Sun lol

I think Scotland managed to do it a couple of times between 1978 and 2005 - hard to believe, isn't it!!!!

Beautiful and in a way they appear abstract the way you photographed them. I love the DoF in this picture. I love the colors and the background color.

Great photo. Like the grape hyacinths, too, the color is spectacular.

Beautiful - ours have just emerged as stunted little shoots after 6 weeks under snow and ice! Chris

Very appropriate Lee. I grew up supporting Welsh rugby and I'm English - must be because they always won!
