20050317 / Vista View

Carmel Highlands, CA

Driving along Highway One on the coast of California can be
beautiful and exceptionally dangerous--ess turns and blind
corners, not to mention roadside cliffs that drop into the
angry Pacific. To that end, there are several scenic spots
to pull off to the side of the road and take it all in safely.
Despite my insistence that 'vista view' is linguistically
redundant, I think we've settled on calling these roadside
respites just that.

This particular 'vista view', once you look past the barbed
wire and danger placards, looks over the southside of beautiful
Point Lobos.

Nice.

I love the tones you get from that new camera Chris. The colour of the barbed wire, and oxidised spots on the Aluminium make it worth the cost alone. Great shot.

Your DOF mixed with the busyness of the crisscrossing and wrapping of metal.. different sizes and strengths make this look dangerous .. very well done

Nice texture, I can just touch it

Almost abstract in feeling. Nice DOF here. The focus is so crisp and sharp .. really nicely done. And vista view is linguistically redundant. They realized that in Maryland and decided to call them either scenic vista or scenic view.
